Each is covered with feathers with a distinctive long tail of stripped coque feather. Flexible wire is attached to the feet for ease in mounting in a variety of poses. Many decorative uses including holiday decoration, party favors, millinery and craft applications. Feather birds are a special handcraft with a long tradition in Asia.
